Built by someone who grew up with outdoor cats.

Emma, creator of Cozycata

Then learned what an indoor cat actually needs.

Where I grew up, cats came and went as they pleased, so letting mine roam felt normal. Then I moved to a busy street and lay awake every night she stayed out. So I tried keeping her in. The yowling at the door. The escape attempts. The guilt every time she stared out the window. And then giving in again.

The turning point came when I stopped asking ‘how do I keep her inside?’ and started asking ‘what is she actually getting from being outside?’ That question changed everything.

I read everything I could find on feline behavior: play and hunting cycles, territory, scent, climbing, how cats cope with change. Cat behaviorists, veterinary guides, enrichment research. And plenty of trial and error in my own living room.

Over about six months, we went from a standoff at the front door to a cat who naps on her window shelf after an evening play session. Not by trying harder to keep her in, but by making inside worth staying for.

The shift wasn’t about stricter rules or buying more cat furniture. It was about understanding why every earlier attempt had failed, and building a home that actually matched how a cat hunts, climbs, explores and rests.

A safe, enriched indoor life is better than an unreliable outdoor life. Every single time.

The Cozycata Protocol is the system I built for myself and my cat, formalized into a 12-week program. It’s not a lockdown. It’s a step-by-step way to understand what your cat looks for outside and bring the best of it indoors.

I’m not a vet or a cat behaviorist. I’m a cat owner who worked through a change many people think is impossible, bringing an outdoor cat inside for good, and I built this for everyone who’s ready to try it too.
